Let me explain my last blog

So some of you non Albertans or non nurses may not be aware of the recent changes to the Alberta health care system. A year and a half ago Alberta realized that the health care system was way over budget and it was time to bring in new blood to help reform our health care. The decision to hire Steven Duckett was one that Alberta will surely regret for a long time to come. Dr. Duckett (not a medical doctor by the way) was introduced to Alberta and was paid $120000 a year to rain in the out of control budget. After some review and very little thought Duckett's idea included firing nurses and put a hiring freeze on the entire health care system. Anyone who has ever been hospitalized in the last i don't know 10 years can obviously see that firing nurses in a system that is over run with more patients that it can handle is probably not a great idea. Before Duckett I worked casual on a very busy vascular surgery unit which meant i would work at least 4 times a week and receive a hundred calls to come in on my days off. After the brilliant mind of Duckett took over my hours dropped to one shift a week if i was lucky. I was forced to leave Calgary which has been my home for ten years in order to find work. Well it turns out that Karma's a bitch cause Duckett has been fired after refusing to answer to the press regarding recent changes in health care reform. (watch the video i posted earlier) Of course he could not answer these questions, but not because he was eating a cookie because he is stupid. It turns out that he is as about as competent as a one legged comatose monkey. Alberta Health Services released a statement saying that the decision to leave the position was Dr. Duckett's. I hardly believe that. i imagine he cried like Nancy Kerrigan when he found out that his cozy high paying job was being ripped from him, like taking a cookie from a baby.
